The AGCP Certification might be the most honored Certification in Clubfitting and Club building. With over 80 AGCP members selected by Golf Digest as America's Best clubfitters the AGCP sets the bar high for Qualifications and Certification. The AGCP test is not an open book test but an essay test. The applicant must explain in his own words that he knows how to perform the high level skills required of America's best clubfitters and club builders. His answers and explanations must convince the AGCP Master of Golf Club Technology that grades his test that he is capable of working on "their" golf clubs. A very high bar indeed. Regardless of the member being a part time fitter and builder working at home, or a full time fitter and builder with a state-of-the-art fitting center in a prime retail location they have to measure up on skills to get certified. More and more AGCP members are also PGA members, USGTF members, or PGTAA member and hold teaching certifications also. Sorry but we no longer honor other certifications to replace the AGCP test. All Certified AGCP members must take the AGCP test. The AGCP test is designed to insure a golfer looking on our locator pages that you not only have the background, knowledge, and ability to fit them and work on their equipment but you have the equipment required to perform the work they are seeking in a professional manner and to the highest standards. The requirements for level provides the golfer a list of required equipment as well as the experience, education and background of the member being considered.

AGCP Masters of Golf Club Technology are not only those who have the most experience, most training and the fully equipped shops but they are also those who give back to other clubmakers the most. Masters are the AGCP members who, often at their own personal expense, travel sometimes thousands of miles to offer one or more 2 hour presentations to AGCP members at the annual AGCP Roundtable Convention  in Columbus, GA.  The AGCP Masters are the members that other members call or e-mail to ask questions to solve the challenges in their shop. The Masters are the teachers of future generations of custom club fitters and club builders and those who strive to help build the AGCP and make it the best organization of it’s kind in the World.
